I was interested to replicate the results from your pangeo showcase to understand the repacking and read options better and if they apply to other datasets @betolink, which led me down some other paths that are represented here:
I would not propose that the discoveries I described in this readme are worth publishing, but it did surface a few interesting things and led me to believe that this type of testing is probably warranted on the per-dataset level to understand what the best configurations are for reading and writing that data.
