Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, we offer individualized help with upload or any other aspect of the gEAR platform. Contact our help desk (link).
Note: The curation/help desk team is independent of the hearing researchers involved in the platform (i.e. if you want help with uploading a private dataset, any materials/visualizations generated as part of that process will not be accessible by researchers in the field).
In addition to regular workshops at conferences, we offer lab and small group instructions of general overviews or specific tools at no cost. If you are interested, please fill out the contact form (link) with a short description of what you do and what aspects of gEAR you are most interested in (This helps us better determine your needs).
I got to this page while looking for help with NeMO analytics or the GCID data analysis portal, why does everything say gEAR?
The original site gEAR (gene Expression Analysis Resource) is focused on hearing related research. However, due to its popularity, we have expanded to add additional instances for several other fields, including brain (NeMO) and infectious disease (GCID) research. The various instances of the platform have the same codebases, are regularly updated with additional functionality, and each has curation/help desk support. The only major differences between various sites are the colors and theming. Datasets are not shared between instances.
