== Welcome to El Dorado

El Dorado is a full-stack community web application written in Ruby/Rails. It features a forum,
event calendar, group chat, file sharing, random headers, avatars, themes, and privacy settings.

== Installation

git clone git://github.com/trevorturk/eldorado.git
cd eldorado
cp config/database.example.yml config/database.yml
cp config/config.example.yml config/config.yml
touch log/development.log
sudo rake gems:install
rake db:create
rake db:schema:load
script/server
# http://localhost:3000/


== Deployment on Heroku

sudo gem install heroku
heroku create
# Set the variables for your production environment in config/config.yml
rake s3:create
rake heroku:config
git push heroku master
heroku rake db:schema:load
heroku open


== Upgrading on Heroku

heroku db:pull sqlite://db/backup.sqlite3
git pull
# Review possible config changes in config/config.example.yml
rake heroku:config
git push heroku master
heroku rake db:migrate
heroku open


== Deployment on Other Hosts

Deployment is also straightforward on Slicehost, Engine Yard, Dreamhost, etc.
See config/deploy.example.rb for an example Capistrano deployment script.
