Quickplay Guide
This Guide will lead you step by step from how to load the mod, import your squad, connect with other players and control the basic mechanics of playing X-Wing on TTS.
If you went through the prerequisite, follow the next steps and you are ready to play.
- First you need to create a squad. This can be done ingame or with YASB 2.0 🔗 or Launch Bay Next:link:.
- Go to the Spawner Terminal (pic) beside the playmat. Select depending where you built your list:
-
YASB 2.0 🔗 (Print./View as Text > TTS) and Launch Bay Next 🔗 (Actions > Copy TTS) provide a comprehensive list format that can be entered in the Spawner under TTS import. For instance
Rear Admiral Chiraneau + Darth Vader + Agile Gunner + Ruthless / Captain Oicunn + Death Troopers + 0-0-0 + Proximity Mines + BT-1 + Intimidation + Dauntless /
- Single Spawner allows you to search for a specific Pilot or Upgrade.
- Builder allows you to create your list if you don't want to use any external tool.
You can either spawn a list directly or save it into a data disk. Data disk can be saved as objects in TTS and loaded in any game to spawn your list. See Advanced features for more detail.
- First you choose your side of the table. To do so click on your name on the top right corner of the screen and choose the color you want to play (usually the red or blue) by clicking on the matching dot on the table. Move your Fleet to your colored area next to the playmat.
- Assign a dial to each ship. Just drop them on the models and the ship's name will appear on it. You can only control the dials assigned to your player color.
- Choose your obstacles. To the side of the playmat you will find an infinite stock of each kind. Just klick on it an draw what you need. If you don't like its shape, move your mouse on it (the edges will glow) and press a number on your keyboard. You can also toggle between different states with right klick on an object and selecting State.
- Press "Toggle Rulers" button next to the obstacles to see where you are allowed to place obstacles. Press the button again to see the startup zone for your ships.
- Drag the obstacles and ships where you want them and lock them. To lock, hover it with the mouse (edges glow white) and press L key. Or right-click and select Toggles > Lock. You can rotate them with the mouse wheel, while you hold an item or use Q and E keys. You can also rotate an arc indicator that way.
- After placing ships press the button a third time and setup is complete.
- Click the clock to start the timer. Click again to pause it.
- Chose Moves on a dial (pic) and a maneuver chart will open. Select what the ship shall perform and click Set. To check your setting you can peek the dial by hovering it with the mouse (the edges glow white) and pressing ALT + Shift keys. You can only peek at your own dials. The corresponding maneuver will be shown in chat.
- Perform selected maneuver by flipping the dial and pressing Move. With Temp you can place and remove the corresponding template to check if it overlapped anything.
- If you perform a Tallon Roll, click on Move and select where the ship shall be aligned.
- Don't forget to assign a stress Token to your ship after flying red. Hover T on the dial and klick on the token. Or draw one from the middle of the table.
- Boost or barrel roll with the R-menu on the dial (pic) by selecting the corresponding icon. To try different barrel rolls (top, middle or back alignment), use undo and select another icon.
- Actions that assign a token can be chosen in T-menu or taken from the stocks at the middle of the table. The tokens are moved with the ship next to it.
- Drop a new target lock token on your ship and it will receive the name of the ship. This helps to keep track to whom the token belongs.
- A on the left of a dial opens a menu to spawn ring that show what is in range 1, 2 or 3 around a ship as well as front (pic), side and rear arcs.
- The easiest way to determine your targets is the arc checker. It gives you shortest distance to all ships in arc and range, that belong to players with other colors. Just right-click on a ship and select an arc you can shoot at (pic).
- In chat all targets ant their range are listed. As you can see in the picture, different colors are used for objects in or out of the bullseye (blue and puple for unobstruced and yellow and red for obstructed, respectively).
- If you play in solo mode, you need to change your player color by clicking on your name on the top right corner of the screen. Assign one dial as red player and one as blue. Then the arc checker will treat these ships as valid targets to each other.
- Draw dice out of the stock in the middle of the table. If you hold one dice and right-click on the stock you can draw more dice out of it. Drop them at a free spot and select all of them by drawing a box.
- Press R (as often as you like) on your keyboard whith your dice selected (edges glow yellow) to roll them. Click anywhere to unselect them and modify single die by hovering it (edges glow white) and press a number on your keybord. Each number from 1 to 8 corresponds to a side of the die.
- Always shuffle your damag deck before you draw the first card. To shuffle, rest the mouse on it and press R on y our keyboard.
- To expose a card into take a critical damage, flip it with F-key or via right-click menu.
