Ooph, that's embarrassing. We did, in the early days, toy with keeping this numpy independent but decided pretty quickly that it wasn't worth it. |

As a runtime dependency (which it seems to be).
There might be a way to not require NumPy with some Cython magic, but I'm not familiar with it.
