SleepWell

But most importantly: Sleep!

This programm shuts the computer down at a selected time after giving the user 3 rounds of applause for going to bed themselves. The program will delay the shutdown timer initiation, if the user has not been using the machine in the past 30 seconds after the start time. The computer will not shut down if any other users are signed in.

System requirements

This program only runs on a Windows 7 machine or higher. Other operating systems are not supported.

Setup SleepWell

  1. On the right, select Releases and under Assets download the SleepWell.zip archive. Extract the files.
  2. Copy the files Applause.wav and SleepWell.exe to the folder C:\Skripte\SleepWell. Create the folders if necessary.
  3. Import the scheduled task that is stored in the file SleepWell_Task.xml.

Notes and Troubleshooting

  • The logs are stored in the folder %TEMP% (just paste that into the start menu) and are called SleepWell_Log_<Time of execution>.
  • If according to the logs the Applause.wav file is missing, make sure you executed step 2 of the setup properly. Also make sure that the execution path of the scheduled task is set to the folder you copied the executable to.
  • If the task is not executed at all but you can run the executable by double clicking it, make sure that the user account that executes the task has the permissions Logon as a Batch Job and Logon as a Service. This is in most instances already the case if the user has administrator permissions.
  • If you want to, you can replace the sound that is played. It must however be a .wav file, called Applause.wav and be located in the same position as the original file.
