This should prevent the deadlock for now while not missing updates on new subscriptions.
I tested the app with this and I couldn't reproduce the deadlock anymore.
Consider this a temporary fix so we can avoid deadlocks in the app, I'm ok with this being closed in favour of better solutions if they are ready, otherwise I think this can work in the meantime.
