2018113000 Beta Release

This is the beta version of the plug-in which may be used for testing Moodle category structure mirroring, available in Panopto 6.0.

• Install this only on your test Moodle instance. Please do not install this beta release on your production Moodle instance.
• A preview of Panopto 6.0 is available on our staging server (*.staging.panopto.com).

This plug-in added new settings, a new button, and fixed one issue:

• The first setting allows admins to enforce Moodle category structure on Panopto folders.
• The second setting allows mirroring of the parent category folders (up to the root category) when a new course is successfully provisioned in Moodle.
• The new button "Sync all Moodle categories" creates and updates Panopto folder tree which reflects all categories in Moodle.
• Note: Both the settings are off by default.
• The issue that was fixed was that Sync on Enrolment would sometimes sync creators as viewers.

• Workaround for an issue where a teacher is recognized as a student occasionally. This workaround is applied only when the new configuration "Authenticate and sync to Panopto on Moodle login" is turned on manually. No need to turn on if you do not hit this issue.

• Fixed an issue with service calls from the Moodle plug-in to the Panopto server where some calls did not happen over HTTPS.

• Added a new script under /lib/cli, this script will perform the upgrade operation from Generation 1 plugin using the CLI instead of the Moodle UI. See panopto support document for details.

• Eliminate Moodle downtime requirement during upgrade from Generation 1 plugin. Data migration needs to run after plugin update manually and it does not block normal Moodle operation.

2017101904 Release

This is minor update of Generation 2 plugin. This is not the latest version, but you may stay at this version if you do not observe any issue on your server. If you have any on-going problem with prior version of Generation 2 plug-in and you are not sure if this new version solves the problem, consult Panopto support. If you are experiencing performance issues it is recommended to upgrade to this version.

Upgrade from version 2017032401 or before, to this version (2017101904) requires the reprovisioning of Panopto course folders. The result is transparent to the end users, but the process itself may take up to a few hours and Moodle becomes inaccessible during that time. Please see this Panopto support page for more information and plan upgrade accordingly.

• Added an optional setting to allow creators to view the Panopto course settings link.
• Added an optional setting to allow anyone with access to the Panopto block to view the recorder download links.
• Fixed an issue with default custom role mappings not being properly mapped.
• Fixed an issue causing system roles to be cleaned during the Panopto role check even if no system roles were given publisher access.
• Removed 'Reprovision course' button since this no longer serves the purpose it did in the Panopto block version 2017032401 or before.
