In an extensive user research incl. interviews and surveys in summer 2021 we have asked mentees and mentors how the matching process could be improved on the platform.

Based on their feedback we developed a new profile creation flow for both mentors and mentees that asks more specifically what mentees are looking for and what mentors can offer (e.g. differentiating between desired roles, skills and mentoring goals). By applying these fields as hard and soft criteria in the matching process, the platform can then suggest best matching mentors for mentees when they search for mentors.
