Categories that are no longer relevant or are outdated, are archived, rather than being deleted.

When archiving a category, all rules within it will remain visible unless archived themselves. This allows any existing links to these categories or rules to continue to work.

To archive a category

  1. Go to the category index public page (E.g. https://ssw.com.au/rules/rules-to-better-communication)
  2. Click on 'edit in GitHub'
  3. Click on the little pencil to edit the Markdown file
  4. Within the frontmatter (---), add "archivedreason: {{REASON FOR ARCHIVE}}"
  5. Create a PR
---
type: category
archivedreason: Category contains outdated information
title: Rules to Better Communication
guid: 471816bf-f0df-4835-bf4d-66a90f6f1adc
uri: rules-to-better-communication
index:
- some-rule
- another-rule
- some-other-rule
- a-fourth-rule
---

Seeing live rules for an archived category

When we archive a category, it no longer shows on the homepage. To see all live rules within an archived category:

  1. Navigate to https://www.ssw.com.au/rules/archived/
  2. Find the desired archived category
  3. Click on the title
  4. You will then be redirected to the categories home page where all live rules under that category are displayed
