Welcome to my GitHub profile! I'm a passionate full-stack developer building my version of the digital world while specializing in crafting custom software solutions for clients. With a strong foundation in both front-end and back-end technologies, I thrive on turning ideas into functional and elegant applications. What sets me apart is my technical expertise, strong communication skills, and adaptability. I approach every project with agility, constantly learning and evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of the tech industry.
My coding journey started in 2020, propelled by an insatiable hunger for knowledge and an innate desire to challenge myself. I navigated a labyrinth of coding tutorials, driven by an unwavering passion for growth🌱. It wasn't until I stumbled upon Code Your Future (CYF) that my path became clearer. Completing their full-stack web developer course in October 2021 marked a significant milestone in my journey👨🏻🎓.
Transitioning from a 14-year tenure in the print media industry to my first role as a graduate developer in April 2023 was a monumental leap 😁. While at CYF, I delved deep into the intricacies of the web, learning and building my skills in technologies like Git, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Node.js, Express, and PostgreSQL. Collaborating on the development of Pitch Pow, an MVP for the Center of Entrepreneurship & Innovations at the University of the Western Cape, served as a testament to my newfound skills. While my focus initially gravitated towards backend development, I seized every opportunity to broaden my horizons🌅.
Post-graduation, my journey of self-improvement continued unabated. Embracing MySQL, React Native, Astro, and Apollo GraphQL, I embarked on a relentless pursuit of knowledge. 🔭 Currently immersed in mastering PHP/Laravel and MongoDB, I relish the incremental growth that accompanies each new skill acquired🌱. A foray into Figma provided invaluable insights into the realm of UX/UI design, enhancing my holistic understanding of development.
As an ardent advocate of OpenAI's transformative potential, I've witnessed firsthand its ability to enhance productivity in my daily endeavours. With a clear vision of my trajectory, my goal over the next five years is to ascend to the ranks of a mid-senior full-stack developer. My journey is characterized by perpetual growth, fueled by an unyielding commitment to excellence.
