DNSChanger - Release Notes

Version 3.0.0.0 - January 2025

New Features:

  1. IPv6 Support

    • DNSChanger now supports IPv6 addresses! Users can seamlessly configure both IPv4 and IPv6 DNS settings through the updated interface.
  2. GoodbyeDPI Architecture Detection

    • GoodbyeDPI now automatically detects your system architecture (32-bit or 64-bit) and downloads the appropriate version. No manual setup required!
  3. System Tray Hide/Show Fixes and Improvements

    • The system tray functionality has been improved for better usability:
      • Hide/Show Application: Easily toggle the visibility of the app window from the system tray.
      • Optimized background operation for smoother performance.
  4. GoodbyeDPI as a Windows Service

    • GoodbyeDPI can now be installed and run as a Windows service, ensuring stable and automatic operation during startup.
  5. Save and Restore User Inputs

    • The application now offers the ability to save user-entered DNS settings and GoodbyeDPI configurations. This feature is optional and can be disabled from the settings menu.
  6. Reset User Inputs to Default

    • Added a one-click option to restore DNS settings and GoodbyeDPI configurations to their default state.
  7. DNS Cache Clearing

    • A new feature allows users to clear their DNS cache directly from the application, helping to resolve potential connectivity issues and ensure DNS changes take effect immediately.

Bug Fixes:

  • GoodbyeDPI File Cleanup

    • Resolved an issue where GoodbyeDPI temporary files (WinDivert.dll and WinDivert64.sys) were not being removed properly after stopping the service.
  • Improved GoodbyeDPI Stability

    • Fixed issues causing GoodbyeDPI to fail under certain network conditions.
  • Interface and Usability Fixes

    • Resolved occasional freezing of the user interface during DNS or GoodbyeDPI operations.
    • Improved input validation for DNS fields.
  • Startup Enhancements

    • Fixed crashes on startup when required dependencies were missing or incomplete.
