I've rewritten the index management side of this to use a rolling monthly index and a nodes_stats alias that is moved to each new month. I went down this path as document TTLs are very inefficient and we have a number of large(-ish) clusters I wanted to use this script on.
The readme has been updated to take this into account, but feel free to change it as you see fit.
