Delete clustering information that references zookeeper and helix #2806
base: main
Are you sure you want to change the base?
Conversation
It is totally inaccurate now, zookeeper and helix support was removed from Appformer 3 years ago It should probably be replaced with something regarding NFS but I'm still figuring that out

Thanks for this @FireBurn ! If you're proposing to remove that section, then a few additional things are required:
But, relevant replacement content would be optimal anyway. @csherrar @kaldesai Which one of you would this apply to? Can you add the relevant SME(s) to verify as well? See also #2805 Thanks guys. |
I wasted quite a lot of time figuring out zookeeper and helix and and even longer time trying to figure out why clustering wasn't working with it, I'll hopefully have clustering figured out in the next week or so, and will try and write something up Is someone already working on this? It seems like quite a big bit of functionality to be wrong for so long |
@FireBurn Right, understood. I've pinged the relevant writers to see if they have any info on this or if they know who the relevant devs would be to ping here from community. Thanks. @vidya-iyengar @heathjoy FYI as well. |
I have no idea |
Imho this can go away, zookeeper was used with older versions, in current time it is obsolete. |
@domhanak Can you look over the Clustering Doc please and let me know if there is anything that aligns with this section's purpose? @FireBurn mentioned NFS. Installing and configuring RHPAM/RHDM in a EAP clustered environment - Configuring an NFS server |
@tomasdavidorg could you please look at above comments? Is there a possibility to have community doc for this? |
Running RHPAM on clustered environment (NFS file system) is tech preview right now. I think this can be replacement for zookeeper/Helix in community. |
@FireBurn See above comments. |
stale PR |

The docs still reference zookeeper and helix in 7.56.0 (and no doubt 7.57.0 when it's tagged) when support was removed back in 7.5.0 (kiegroup/appformer@f8e4602) back in 2017 via https://issues.redhat.com/browse/AF-894 |
