at the moment the installation uses a practise adopted from an unspecified AUR package, which involves installing a POSIX shell script into /etc/profile.d/ that is picked up by /etc/profile. more consulting with docs is necessary to find a more consistent way to accomplish the system-wide defining of $AQ for users.
