In relation to this, that was on purpose. Due to difficult for some to read an email that is themed and coloring could be highly inconsistent between emails. But some emails also have html and CSS making it even harder to theme each and every email, just making it harder for the end user to read an email.

And in relation to the icons, they are all pngs, but i could work on it with some filters i presume.
