The Spring 2014 release of Mediathread is now running live and in use at Columbia University. Updated code has been merged into master at https://github.com/ccnmtl/mediathread.

In Fall 2013, 65 classes at Columbia undertook learning activities in Mediathread, in subject domains including Art History, Education, Social Work, East Asian Studies, Music, Public Speaking, and Reading and Composition. Mediathread is now also in use at several other higher education institutions.

A public site describing uses and capacities of Mediathread more extensively will be launching in early February.

Highlights of this release:

Bookmarklet

The Mediathread bookmarklet experience has been redesigned to make collecting media more intuitive. Bookmarklet users can import multiple items into their Mediathread collection, and it is now possible to add items to a Mediathread collection without being routed to Mediathread.

###Edit Item Title The original importer/creator of an item can now update the item's title.

###Auto Save Composition/Assignment Compositions and assignments are automatically saved 30 seconds after a change event is fired. Change events include updating the project title, changing the project participants, editing the project text and inserting items or selections into the project text.

###ARTSTor New code supports ARTStor's new dynamic url creation.

###Login page redesigned to support multiple resolutions.
