What are profiles?

Profiles allow you to organise mods to allow you to switch between multiple servers with multiple friends.

Exporting your profile

r2modman allows you to export your profiles, and this allows your friends to grab all the same mods and versions as you, with almost no effort!

You could even export a profile for your own personal use so you don't lose mods for a future profile.

To do this, access the Settings screen, and click Export profile as ....

Note: Manually installed and locally imported mods are not installed when imported.

Code vs File

You'll be met with two Export profile as ... options. These are code and file.

  • Code: A temporary code that lasts between 30 minutes and 21 hours.
  • File: A .r2z file. Unlike the code, this is not temporary however relies on sending the file to another user.

Importing a profile

On the profile selection screen, click the Import profile button. An exported profile will have a .r2z extension. (.r2z => r2modman zip)

Once your profile has imported, you'll be able to select the new profile, and load in with all the mods downloaded.

New profile:

You'll be prompted to select a name. The default name will be the name of the profile that was exported. If you have a profile with the same name then you'll need to change it before you can import it.

Update existing profile:

Unlike a new profile, you won't get the option to name the imported profile. Instead this option allows you to replace an existing profile with the exported profile. This will remove any manually installed or locally imported mods.
