This library is a simple client-side chat library that is used during VGA livestreams.
- Website: http://videogamesawesome.com/
- This library is broken into 2 layers. The chat and the connector layer. The chat which handles chat specific & UI Logic, while the connector logic is designed specifically as an adapter class between the chat layer and the whatever server-side chat protocol.
The following 3rd-party libraries are required to either be installed locally with the chat library or accessible as a CDN reference.
- jQuery 2.2.X and above [https://jquery.com/] (CDN: https://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.2.4.min.js).
- Babel stand-alone library [https://babeljs.io/docs/setup/#installation] (CDN: https://unpkg.com/babel-standalone@6/babel.min.js)
- No tabs; use 4 spaces instead.
- Little to no trailing whitespaces if possible.
- All pull requests must be unit tested to some degree and will not fail on runtime.
- All pull requests require a detailed description and justification of the changes.
Moderate refactoring and bugs fixes of the following logic:
- Added a viewport tag to hopefully encourage adaptive design on mobile devices.
- Added a tilde to the default hyperlinkRegEx to handle hyperlinks with a tilde.
- Fixed an issue where the logic that corrected an invalid nickname couldn't handle multiple sessions of the same invalid nickname.
- Added logic to trigger a kick event if the user does not have rights to a channel yet attempts to send a message to it.
- Added sprite scaling and cleaned up the spritesheets to only contain higher resolution images (32x32) instead of a series smaller incremental versions. This should allow for better scaling.
Moderate refactoring of the following logic:
- Theme logic is now handled within its own class.
- Scroll logic into its own class.
Refactored the namespace from vga.irc to vga.webchat, because, I am...insane.

The following fixes and new features have been implemented in this version:

- Completed the incomplete logic for private message handling.
Fixed the following issues:
- The message 'The room is now in TURBO only mode.' spammed the chat whenever a user logged in.
- The userlist became corrupted and user messages were lost when the user count was greater than 20.
- Messages were being repeated due to the above condition and the chatbox not being cleared due to a latency issue.
