Welcome at the Wiki of demowatch,

Demowatch ist a project that tries to provide a independent platform for promoting political an social demonstrations. The goal is to have a central register of several themes which people demonstrate for – or against. Its not in our interest to side with any certain political position but to provide any peaceful democratic initiative. We believe that political demonstrations are a fundamental right of the citizens in all democratic systems to advise other people to there initerests.

The reason why this project has to be independent is simple: Most political plattforms are specific and some of them build a kind of subculture that don’t reach most people. Additionally we found it very hard to search for current political demonstrations in the internet with the standard search engines. That’s why a central register is the way we try to solve this problem. To take most advantage of the internet we provide an anonymous RSS feed and a powerful email reminder service. Both can be used to filter individual themes that are of interest for different people. Currently we try to improve the website in several ways and bring this service to other countries too.
