The first alpha release of RentScraper.

Rent scraper is an open source tool for residential real estate rental business analytics.

Are you a:

• property investor looking to optimise your return?
• property manager looking to provide the best returns for your clients?
• tenant looking to propose reasonable rents in light of market conditions?

If you answered yes to any of the above, RentScraper provides a solution to your problems.

Current basic functionality:

User input of:

• suburb
• postcode
• bedrooms
• bathrooms
• how far back to search
• current rent
• proposed rent

Results of queries will be plotted in four forms:

1. Boxplots of weekly rent by month to illustrate market trends
2. Histogram of weekly rents over the last three months to show the distribution of recent weekly rental amounts (aka "current market conditions").
3. A table of rental properties and their details.
4. A map showing where these properties are.

Known issues:

1. Map rendering is slow due to the free geocoding algorithm.
2. UI currently does not allow users to specify a date range
