What's New in Version 0.3.0
- Overhaul: This version introduces a comprehensive overhaul of Aeromap, completely rewritten from the ground up. This strategic decision was driven by the need to address a significant number of outdated libraries that were hindering further updates and improvements.
- Aircraft Up Orientation: We've enhanced the user experience by ensuring that the aircraft icon consistently points upwards. As the aircraft changes its heading, the map dynamically rotates to reflect this, offering a more intuitive and user-friendly interface.
- Back to center: To further improve the user experience, we've added a button that allows you to quickly recenter the map on the aircraft. This is particularly useful to allow you navigate into other areas of the map and then quickly return to the aircraft's position.
- Satellite View: Expanding our mapping capabilities, version 0.3.0 now includes a satellite view option. Users can seamlessly switch between the traditional roadmap view and a detailed satellite perspective, enriching the overall situational awareness.
- Window Position and Size Memory: To streamline the user experience, Aeromap now remembers your last window position and size settings. When you reopen the application, it will launch with these preferences, saving you time and enhancing your workflow efficiency.
- Connection Settings Memory: The application now memorizes your connection settings, including the host and port. This enhancement ensures a smoother, more efficient startup by automatically configuring your previous settings.
Although so distant in time from the previous version, this updates mark a new milestone in Aeromap's development. I'm excited for you to experience these enhancements!
