NACIS 2015 Map Project

This is a collaborative project by Maptime MSP to build a map application for people coming to town for the 2015 NACIS Annual Meeting. We will share our collective knowledge of the best places to eat, drink, and visit in Minneapolis, while at the same time, getting real experience with distributed version control (Git/Github), geoJSON, and Web mapping.

We introduced the project at our July Meeting, learned some Git, and ran through a good workflow for contributing to the project. David's presentation from that meeting is here.

##Project Objectives

  • create a map to share our local knowledge with the NACIS 2015 attendees
  • responsive design, so it works well on a smartphone
  • a simple map, for learning
  • we learn some new skills while building something useful
  • active participation by as many Maptime members as possible!

Important Note

In order to give us a place to start, some initial code, data, and wiki pages were pushed to the project repo. This is a group project, and EVERYTHING in the repo is open for additions, modifications, improvements!
