I don't know if this is the right place to ask. I am wondering over the future of the MS-FSSHTTP protocol for desktop clients.
Will the protocol continue to be the way to handle co-authoring when using desktop office clients or will it be replaced by something else?

Unfortunately, we cannot offer any support or guidance for the MS-FSSHTTP protocol on this site. MS-FSSHTTP is not part of the Cloud Storage Partner Program, and not included as part of the corresponding documentation.

Thanks @RobRol!
You do not happen to know if there is any other Microsoft place to ask, that is focused on the development side of things?

Apologies @Robban1980, but I'm not sure what channels are available for receiving help on the MS-FSSHTTP protocol. That said, since it is part of Microsoft's Open Specifications program it is conceivable that the support forum might be able to assist you. That suggestion is purely conjecture though. I do not know to what extent they offer support. It wouldn't surprise me if they can provide advice on implementing the protocol, and nothing forward looking.

Best of luck getting your question answered. I'm sorry that we are unable to provide any assistance here.
