First time setting this up locally; some minor tweaks to make life easier for users running macOS (like me 😄)

Set the correct malloc with an #ifdef, rather than requiring a manual edit.
SCALE_FACTOR set in "run.sh" needed to be in float format to match Make scale factor a float #119.


          Fix some compilation/setup issues
