What is Srverld

The Srverld project was initially an idea by Christofer Ferm and after discussing it with Henrik Nordh the idea evolved and became a spare time just for fun project. The goal is to create an Open Source distributed media server for sharing of media files within a closed group of media servers and devices over the internet. Srverld is supposed to be able to run on a Linux based router as well as a regular desktop computer or dedicated server. Servrld will for the most part be written in Erlang. We aim to support multi media devices such as Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony Playstation 3, Home Theater PCs and a bunch of regular media players as well.
