I've looked into EGL support in GLEW and wxWidgets today. Could you please add a CMake options to select a backend. Distributions are not ready for this. wxWidgets and GLEW in Fedora and openSUSE are still using GLX. It will be some effort to switch to EGL. You would have to recompile quite a number of applications and check if they are all building and working. See |

Rebased #13307 and applied a gentoo patch to fix initializers when using the newer wxwidgets.
Only issue I've encountered so far is that when returning to the plater view, the top menu bar disappears until an input is detected. I don't know if this is an issue of my device or the wayland patch, I don't have an X11 environment to test right now.
