I can see the advantage of a markdown license file. I haven't done it so far, as I didn't wanted to maintain two files. You are very well invited to write a markdown version of it. It just needs to be completed before I will merge it into the repository. I suggest you start from qaul.net_license.txt file and mark that one up :-)

Well, you made a readme for the licenses folder, I converted the license to markdown (here), which is two (mostly) different things. Haven't made a PR yet, since I don't know if that's what the project maintainers want...
