# This started as a repo for exiftool RPM specs, etc., but I think it should just be a place to keep all the Specks, hence Bacon. # ImageMagick # custom build, includes dcraw as a delegate & dependency # rolls in more delegates JP2, JPEG2000, etc. than does stock # exiftool-rpm # 2016-09-19 # Where there's a need, we tend to make something up. # So, here's something to help you make Phil Harvey's # most excellent Image-ExifTool for Red Hat / CentOS # Download the latest tarball from: # http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/ # as normal user do: # $ sudo yum install rpmdevtools # $ rpmdev-setuptree # $ cd rpmbuild/SOURCES && wget <source tarball> # $ cd .. # $ cp ~/exiftool.spec ./SPECS/ # $ rpmbuild -ba SPECS/exiftool.spec # package should be ready for you in ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/ # $ sudo yum install ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/Image-ExifTool....rpm # 2016-09-20 # <rant> so, you remember that time when you did a yum search, # "yum search exiftool" but it didn't show results since the # supposed RHEL admin for your org < censored > # < censored >? remember that time? it sucked. :( # you totally had to make a spec file to build an RPM when you # could have just retrieved it from fedoraproject. </rant> # save yourself the trouble and check out the real deal here: # https://pkgs.fedoraproject.org/cgit/rpms/perl-Image-ExifTool.git/
