# This started as a repo for exiftool RPM specs, etc., but I think it should just be a place to keep all the Specks, hence Bacon.

# ImageMagick
# custom build, includes dcraw as a delegate & dependency
# rolls in more delegates JP2, JPEG2000, etc. than does stock

# exiftool-rpm

# Where there's a need, we tend to make something up.
# So, here's something to help you make Phil Harvey's
# most excellent Image-ExifTool for Red Hat / CentOS

# Download the latest tarball from:

# as normal user do:
# $ sudo yum install rpmdevtools
# $ rpmdev-setuptree
# $ cd rpmbuild/SOURCES && wget <source tarball>
# $ cd ..
# $ cp ~/exiftool.spec ./SPECS/
# $ rpmbuild -ba SPECS/exiftool.spec

# package should be ready for you in ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/
# $ sudo yum install ~/rpmbuild/RPMS/Image-ExifTool....rpm

# 2016-09-20
# <rant> so, you remember that time when you did a yum search,
# "yum search exiftool" but it didn't show results since the
# supposed RHEL admin for your org < censored >
# < censored >? remember that time? it sucked. :(
# you totally had to make a spec file to build an RPM when you
# could have just retrieved it from fedoraproject. </rant>

# save yourself the trouble and check out the real deal here:
