Hello and thanks for downloading LightBrowser!

First of all, it doesn't matter if you have downloaded the browser from itch.io or GitHub, those are basically the same .7z-files.

Hold on, what in the world are .7z-files?

.7z-files are not much different then .zip-Files. It's just a compressed folder with items (e.g. pictures, binaries, music, text documents etc.) in it. The only thing that is different is the compression algorithm used to compress the files inside it. But that's out of scope for our purposes.

If you have already downloaded the file, use a data compression program such as 7-zip (recommended) or WinRAR. If such program is installed, right click the "LightBrowser-2020.xx.7z" file and left-click "Open with 7-zip/WinRAR" and choose a location for the unzipped folder to save it to.

Congratulations, you just decompressed a .7zip file! Now that you've done that, simply go into the unzipped directory (folder) and launch the "LightBrowser.exe"-executable with a left-double-click. You should now be greeted by an opening application which shows the DuckDuckGo-page.
