An inventory management system based in Java. Built for my C482, Software I class.
Notable ideas I haven't seen included into any other projects on GH:
-
fieldSpy function, activated upon the mouse entering the anchor pane. Uses BooleanBinding and the emptyFields function to monitor text fields, disabling/enabling the save button if there fields are filled. Provides a layer of exception prevention because the user cannot submit null data.
-
Seperate functions to check data. verifyData function to nest them into a single function. Cleans the code up, more readable and presentable.
My train of thought for this project was pointed towards making it as difficult as possible for the user to submit incorrect data, or trigger any type of exception. You'll find the modify and delete buttons won't enable unless pointed toward an object. This prevents the user from throwing a null point exception by pressing the buttons without anything selected.
The project guidelines were focused more on exception handling, which I also included.
This project passed in the first round of examination.
