Hi! I'm probably known best as the author of Gauche, an R7RS Scheme implementation. I've been developing it for the past 20 years to make it the best tool to solve problems I encounter daily as a developer---easily scripted, featureful, and fast. I'd like to push the development forward to keep Gauche competitive among the programming language implementations.
I'm also eager to make Gauche support as many SRFIs (Scheme Requests for Implementation), including draft ones, as possible, to test out the new Scheme library and standard candidates. Your sponsorship will help me contribute to the Scheme community more.
When I'm not writing software, I'm auditioning for acting gigs, and occasionally land on roles in films and theatres.
The sponsorship will go to develop and improve Gauche, an R7RS Scheme implementation. Writing a programming language implementation is rather easy, but keeping it robust, reliable and competitive, is hard. I've already been using Gauche for my commercial projects, but I'd like to enhance and grow Gauche more steadily, to show that Scheme can be applied to practical problems.
