| # Terms of Service Agreement | ||
|
|
||
| This Terms of Service Agreement (the "Agreement") is entered into between the Sanitizer Bot maintainers ("Maintainers") and the user ("User") of the Sanitizer Discord bot (the "Bot"). | ||
|
|
||
| By using the Bot, the User agrees to be bound by the terms of this Agreement. If the User does not agree to these terms, they should immediately discontinue use of the Bot. | ||
|
|
||
| ## 1. Use of the Bot | ||
|
|
||
| The Bot is open-source software, released under the MIT License. Users are granted rights in accordance with this license to use, modify, and distribute the Bot, subject to the following conditions: | ||
|
|
||
| - The Bot may be used for both personal and commercial purposes | ||
| - Users must include the original copyright notice and MIT License in any copy or substantial portion of the Bot | ||
| - Users must comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Developer Terms | ||
|
|
||
| ## 2. Prohibited Use | ||
|
|
||
| The User may not use the Bot in any way that: | ||
| - Violates applicable laws, rules, or regulations | ||
| - Infringes upon the rights of any third party | ||
| - Attempts to exploit or harm the Bot's infrastructure | ||
| - Creates unnecessary load on the Bot's servers | ||
| - Circumvents the Bot's intended functionality | ||
|
|
||
| ## 3. Limitation of Liability | ||
|
|
||
| The Bot is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The Maintainers shall not be liable for any damages arising out of the use or inability to use the Bot, including but not limited to: | ||
| - Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages | ||
| - Loss of profits or data | ||
| - Business interruption | ||
| - Any other commercial damages or losses | ||
|
|
||
| ## 4. Service Availability | ||
|
|
||
| The Maintainers reserve the right to: | ||
| - Modify or discontinue the Bot at any time without notice | ||
| - Update the Bot's functionality or features | ||
| - Temporarily suspend service for maintenance or updates | ||
|
|
||
| The Maintainers shall not be liable to the User or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuance of the Bot. | ||
|
|
||
| ## 5. Open Source and Intellectual Property | ||
|
|
||
| The Bot is open-source software, distributed under the MIT License. Users are encouraged to: | ||
| - Review the source code | ||
| - Submit bug reports and feature requests | ||
| - Contribute improvements through pull requests | ||
| - Fork and modify the code for their own use | ||
|
|
||
| All contributions to the Bot must be made under the same MIT License. | ||
|
|
||
| ## 6. Data Collection and Privacy | ||
|
|
||
| The Bot: | ||
| - Does not store or log any user messages | ||
| - Does not collect personal information | ||
| - Only processes messages containing supported platform links | ||
| - Maintains user privacy as a top priority | ||
|
|
||
| ## 7. Indemnification | ||
|
|
||
| The User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Maintainers from any claims, damages, liabilities, costs, or expenses arising from: | ||
| - The User's use of the Bot | ||
| - The User's violation of these terms | ||
| - The User's violation of applicable laws or regulations | ||
|
|
||
| ## 8. Termination | ||
|
|
||
| - Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time | ||
| - Upon termination, the User must cease using the hosted instance of the Bot | ||
| - The User may continue to use their own instance of the Bot in accordance with the MIT License | ||
|
|
||
| ## 9. Governing Law | ||
|
|
||
| This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international laws. Any disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in accordance with standard dispute resolution procedures. | ||
|
|
||
| ## 10. Changes to Terms | ||
|
|
||
| The Maintainers reserve the right to update these terms at any time. Users are encouraged to periodically review the terms in the Bot's documentation or GitHub repository. | ||
|
|
||
| ## 11. Contributing | ||
|
|
||
| Users who contribute to the Bot agree that their contributions will be: | ||
| - Licensed under the same MIT License | ||
| - Made without expectation of compensation | ||
| - Free from any third-party intellectual property claims | ||
|
|
||
| ## 12. Disclaimer | ||
|
|
||
| THE BOT IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE MAINTAINERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE BOT OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE BOT. | ||

| By using the Bot, the User acknowledges that they have read this Agreement, understand it, and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. This Agreement constitutes the entire understanding between the parties regarding the use of the Bot. |
