I was getting an error when serving
index.html:SyntaxError: An invalid or illegal string was specifiedfrom this line.
After some tinkering, I found that the error was resolved when I removed the
:is()parameter from the style rules. I might have done this in a stupid manner, so feel free to disregard if there's a better way to do it.
