Welcome to the PhotoFlock wiki!
The main purpose of this project is to provide a unified platform for photographers to showcase their work and also for people to connect with them. PhotoFlock will be a digital portfolio website for photographers all over the world, from amateurs to professionals. With its intuitive design, customized for each photographer, the website will be an utter joy for the visitors, providing them with an enhanced experience of the photographer’s work.
As a photographer, their portfolio website is the business card for them in the digital world. Keeping this very idea in mind, an online presence is necessary for showing their work to the world and reaching out to potential clients.
The photographer’s online presence should not be limited to just our website. Social media is a great way to promote their work and their online portfolio. It also makes it easier for people to contact the photographer. So, we would also be adding links from the photographer’s social media sites to not only promote their work but also to show a different side of the person as a photographer.
A photographer’s website would consist of their previous work, partnership information, devices they use, contact information etc. If a company or anyone wants to hire a photographer, this website would act as a photographer’s resume which may help them land in their dream job.
All of us, at some or the other point in time, have come across friends or family members who are photographers or are interested in photography. Unfortunately, a proper platform for them to propagandize their talent is not available. Also, on the other hand, there isn’t a platform for the people to find photographers. PhotoFlock connects these two. It will help find clients their ideal photographer and the photographer their ideal client.
There are existing portfolio websites of many photographers such as :- https://mareenfischinger.com/
http://www.brandonwoelfel.com/
https://www.jillgreenberg.com/
Although these portfolio websites are amazing, one crucial dimension which they lack is – a unified platform. We would reach out to photographers and ask them to register on the website. We would curate their profile on our website using various themes and templates for them to choose from. These themes would be changeable and customizable as per their requests on monthly or quarterly basis. Each registered photographer would have a separate profile which would contain their photo album, their past experience, partnership information and contact details. The photographers can also share their social media profiles such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. so that there are other avenues also open for people to connect to them apart from the contact information available. The clients, on the other hand can look for photographers using their name or just browse through different profiles of the photographers available.
There is a lot of future scope to this project. We plan to deploy this project live using Heroku or AWS or any other service and also include advertisements for revenue generation.
