This is a big deal. 20% of the UK national health budget is spent on mental health and many problems start with depression, often caused by loneliness or a lack of purpose.
We're looking for volunteers (maybe UK student projects?) to build it for soft-launch in student communities. These organisations might also be usefully involved:
- DTI Future Cities Catapult
- Open Data Institute to advise on federated search
- Nesta, who funded #WeWillGather and are looking for a new owner for the Do-it database and app. We missed out on funding from their hyper-local theme or Social Action Innovation Fund.
- We're a Facebook App game targeting Facebook users on the web, on mobile web and might either use PhoneGap to allow the mobile Web App to persist better in the background and accept push notifications or build native iOS and Android versions.
- We want it to be a fun social game with addictive qualities.
