I think the way it goes is something like:
- The Laplace demon works by assuming there are in fact real forces acting between particles at all times
- But Max Planck concluded that beyond some very small unit size, that's not true
- And Einstein's dig into elementary particles found that what we call a "proton" (previously something we felt had acting potential on other units of mass of the same size) is actually just two up quarks and a down quark
- But Max Planck concluded that's not true (beyond very small sizes)
- And Einstein's research into elementary particles found that what we call a "proton" (previously something we felt had acting potential on other units of mass of the same size) is actually just two up quarks and a down quark
- Same deal with neutrons which are two down quarks and an up quark
- So the conclusion of all this is basically that if we can't conclude particles really exist, and we already have reason to disbelieve that even particles act on each other up to a certain size -- scientific determinism comes unraveling really quick. There's nothing that actually proves what comes next is a result of what came before.

# Basic cocktails bar stock
#publish
Opened [[2025-01-13]]. Sharded out of [[Cocktails]], circa [[2024-03-01]].

This is the bar stock necessary to make the following simple cocktails:
- [[Martini]]: Gin, dry vermouth, bitters
- [[Negroni]]: Gin, sweet vermouth, campari
- [[Manhattan]]: Whiskey, dry vermouth, bitters
- [[Margarita]]: Tequila, triple sec, lime juice, syrup
- [[Daquiri]]: Rum, lime juice, syrup
- Gin and tonic: Gin, tonic water
- Rum and coke: Rum, coke
- Screwdriver: Orange juice, vodka

I wrote this content when I was first starting out with a home bar so it's a little rough around the edges.

## Bar stock
Alcohol
- Gin
- Dry vermouth
- Sweet vermouth
- Whiskey
- Tequila
- Triple sec
- Rum
- Vodka (not in any of these drinks, but you need it)
- Skimp on the price. Kavlana might be good.

Misc
- Orange bitters
- Angostura bitters
- Lime juice
- Agave syrup (just for the margarita)
- Simple syrup

Mixers
- Tonic water
- Coke
- Orange juice
- Cranberry juice is better for vodka shots imo

Accessories
- Solo cups (for parties)
- Coupe glasses
- Everyone agrees martini glasses suck. They're too big and spill. Coupe glasses are better. Get those.
- Furthermore, [[Fun facts|fun fact]]: Cocktail and martini glasses are the same as coupe glasses, just adapted for different drinking habits.

_Some of the science that went into finding the proportions_

This is an alcohol-optional [[Cocktails|cocktail]] served at Double Chicken Please in NYC. I tried it on [[2024-08-18]].

The cocktail doesn't have a name, just "#10".

## Flavor profile
A lovely combo of mild tea flavors with a bite of acidity and a brilliant smoky aftertaste. I prefer the non-alcoholic version.

The world seems content with (B). But there must be a better way.

My proposed solution: Restaurants simply use bigger buns and spread their ingredients wider.
My solution: Just use bigger buns and spread the ingredients wider.

This is a win-win: the restaurant-goer gets a better tasting burger (and also the illusion of a bigger one), and the restaurant spends barely any more money on buns -- cash quickly recovered by more customers wanting to try their long burger.

Anyways, that's the idea behind Warren's long burgers. It's more like a principle I hope more restaurants adopt.

Visualization of transforming an overly tall burger into a long burger by flattening its ingredients and not changing the volume of non-bun ingredients.
