AWS Testing

Testers

AWS has generously provided some credit for cloudRIG testing, so if you are a gamer and developer you can join the testing team and use that credit.

To apply

  1. Clone the repo
  2. Get it running
  3. Submit a pull request with a fix/change (the purpose of giving you a testing account is to improve cloudRIG)

If it's merged into the main branch I'll set up a testing account for you.

Setting up a test account

  1. Make an AWS account with the suffix cloudrig for your email (works with gmail) - e.g. user+cloudrig@gmail.com

This means that you can have the same Gmail account but set up a unique AWS account - Gmail routes [email protected] to @gmail.com

  1. Complete billing and verification set up
  2. Contact me on the Parsec Discord (javagoogles)
  3. I'll attempt to add you to my AWS Organisation (which is a very VERY, VERY VERY! flakey service, so bear with me)

Some etiquette

While you won't be billed, there isn't a whole lot of credit, and it's running out fast so please:

  • Turn off your box when you're done (AWS charges by the hour regardless of how long it's on for)
  • Don't change the box type from g2.2xlarge using spotfleet
  • Only use the AWS account your just made for

I set up Budgets for each user in any case.
