Agenda & Notes

  1. Opening

  2. Review of last meeting minutes and actions

  3. Lack of mandate.

As the chair, I no longer know what TT-Protocols is supposed to deliver. We were supposed to:

    • identify message queueing protocols for use. It looks like ET-AT has adopted MQTT.
      • ET-W2AT adopted MQTT 3.1.1 and MQTT 5.0
    • identify a message format. ET-W2AT has established their own: https://github.com/wmo-im/wis2-notification-message.
    • part of identifying the message format, was establishing a topic hierarchy. That preparatory work from us has taken root, and is now codified here: https://github.com/wmo-im/wis2-topic-hierarchy
    • we had a proposal for GTStoWIS2 topic mapping, but that entire approach was called into question at the last few wis2box/ET-W2AT meetings, with people going back to suggesting TTAAii mapping. So it isn't clear that further work on the mapping module is relevant either.

We did a lot of foot-work and background, and sharing, and it looks like it worked. It seems ET-W2AT now has answers to all the questions posed to TT-Protocols. I have asked for clarification of the mandate.

  4. Review the issues.

    • The team agrees that they will go through all the open issues at the next meeting
    • The team also discussed the table CCCC, which Secretariat updated upon requests last week (.pdf). The team agrees that the master copy will be in .json. Discussion needed for identification of the authoritative source for table CCCC.
