What this PR does / why we need it?

This PR addresses an unexpected behavior in CodeMirror where dragging to select text allows the selection of identical characters. This feature implementation aims to exclude repeated characters from the selection during the drag action, enhancing the user experience.

Any background context you want to provide?

The current iteration of CodeMirror facilitates extensive functionality as a code editor. However, it also results in some selections that may not align with user expectations. By preventing the selection of identical characters during a drag action, we can improve the intuitiveness and functionality of text selection in the editor.

Poem

In the garden of code, a rabbit hops free,
With changes so bright, as bright as can be.
No more matches to highlight, just smooth, simple flow,
In the land of CodeMirror, watch the edits grow!

40-40: LGTM! The new dependency aligns with the PR objectives.

The addition of the @uiw/codemirror-extensions-basic-setup package at version ^4.23.2 is a good fit for the project, as it likely provides basic extensions or configurations to enhance the CodeMirror editor. This aligns with the PR objective of improving the text selection functionality and user experience in CodeMirror.

The package complements the existing CodeMirror setup in the project, as evident from the presence of other CodeMirror-related dependencies in the package.json file.

frontend/src/components/editor/Editor.tsx (1)

77-77: LGTM! The change aligns with the PR objective.

Setting highlightSelectionMatches to false in the basicSetup configuration will prevent the highlighting of selection matches. This change enhances the text selection functionality by excluding repeated characters from being selected during drag actions, thereby improving the intuitiveness and usability of the editor.

The modification aligns with the PR objective of preventing the selection of identical characters and addresses the linked issue #339.
