Refactor codebase and update dependencies

This pull request includes several changes to the codebase and updates to the project dependencies. The changes include:

• Getting rid of async loops

• Rewriting tests to use pytest

• Removing setup.py, precommit, tox, test coverage, and workflows

• Updating the .gitignore file to exclude certain directories and files

• Adding a tox.ini file to configure the tox testing environment

• Modifying the connection_lost method in a class

• Updating the all variable in a module

• Adding a pyproject.toml file to configure build and formatting tools

• Adding GitHub Actions workflows for code coverage and linting

• Adding pre-commit hooks for code quality checks
