This PR might solve #4253 by keeping a list of disconnect tasks instead of just one.
I'm marking it as "draft" because ultimately I'd like to better understand what is happening. How can a disconnect task be overwritten before being canceled? This would require two disconnects without a handshake in between. 🤔
