As part of the dev sync, we determined that a backend selection process will take place

Acceptance Criteria

  • @schreiaj will investigate using fastapi
  • @zdeveloper will investigate using Springboot
  • please time box to 3 hours.

and a determination will be made, then update this ticket with the details.
