HOW TO: Connecting a laptop to the youbot

  • Connect ethercat cable to ethercat 2 connection on the youbot.
  • roslaunch youbot_driver_ros_interface youbot_driver.launch

"Execute as root"
Open a terminal in the folder catkin_ws/devel/lib/youbot_driver_ros_interface and enter the following: sudo setcap cap_net_raw+ep youbot_driver_ros_interface

"No Ethercat slaves found"
check which interface you are using for the youbot. You can see this with the ifconfig command. it should be ethX. Change the interface in the youbot-ethercat.cfg file in youbot_driver/config. If this does not work check if you have the cable plugged in correctly.
