Citizen Labs

You're using it, of course, right now! It's where Citizen Labs is able share code and documentation with others. It also lets you and others work together on projects from anywhere.

Getting Setup With Github

  1. If you haven't made an account yet, sign up for one using an email address. Use the Join GitHub for free for now. Video: How to Create a GitHub Account | Questions/Help

  2. Join Citizen Labs on Github. Use Slack to ask Allen or Jace to be added.

  3. To make things easier for you, GitHub also has a desktop app that you can use so you don't have to use the browser version, making your work space a little more fluid. Download the installer according to your current OS and then follow instructions on the screen and you should be good to go!

GitHub Tutorials

GitHub also has some great tutorials with how to navigate and use the website. Take advantage of it if you don't understand how it works. There are also several other informative (and humorous) tutorials as well outside of GitHub created by a variety of users.
