Dataset portals

Migrated from the helpdesk repository in 2018: Here is an update on the status for the dataset portals for the Norwegian museum collections (including also all other Norwegian datasets): https://data.gbif.no/datasets/

GBIF-Norway has since long more tasks (larger mandate) than the corresponding staff members allows for. With the current staff turnover some services such as the dataset portals will unfortunately be put on hold. We hope that the basic functionality will be operative, but in the case of even minor issues, the dataset portals might be offline for longer periods - starting from the autumn of 2018.

Many of the GBIF-Nodes internationally have started collaboration on similar services under the Living Atlases project. GBIF-Norway also plan to move the functionality of the dataset portals into this collaborative codebase. This is an important part of the preparation (and research application) for the next project period (2020-2025) for GBIF-Norway. However, unfortunately we expect instability and disrupted operation for the dataset portals to continue through 2018 and 2019.
