Common questions and answers

How can I quickly tell if my car is compatible?

By taking a physical look at your gearbox's controller, you can very easily tell if it is compatible!

Compatible EGS modules

Module name Compatible
EGS EXPERIMENTAL
EGS51 EXPERIMENTAL
EGS52 YES
EGS53 YES

Also, be sure to check the physical wiring of your gearbox module (Especially if you have EGS52). Those with CAN shifter modules are compatible, and those without CAN shifter modules are NOT compatible.

Determining if you have a CAN or non CAN shifter module

Can this TCM be used in a standalone setup?

No. This TCM is designed to be integrated into cars which have a full CAN network such as those built from 2000 up to 2012 (Where Mercedes discontinued the 722.6 box). If you are trying to run a custom 722.6 TCM for a standalone setup, you can checkout the following alternative projects:

Can this be used in a non Mercedes vehicle (IE: Jeep / Chrysler etc), which came with the 722.6 transmission from factory?

Eventually yes, however this is a very early work-in-progress as it appears the CAN networks are different for those vehicles when compared to the Mercedes vehicles with EGS52 and EGS53 modules. When the TCM works perfectly in those vehicles, they will be added to the official support list.
