Wood Post
Wood posts are the byproducts of growing ornamental trees. They can also be manufactured directly by slitting logs. When placed adjacent, wooden posts will connect to form multiblock structures. They are used as a component in wood post fences.
Besides being grown, wood posts are crafted by placing an axe over a wood block on a crafting grid. All vanilla axes and most mod axe tools can be used for this purpose. The act of splitting a log in this manner will yield 4 posts and damage the axe by 1 point. The axe will be left on the crafting grid.
Placing 4 wooden posts in a 2x2 arrangement will return a full wood block.
Wood posts have an unusual connection behavior. Wood posts stacked single-high and placed in a row will not connect to each other. As more posts are stacked on top, they will begin connecting only at the top, leaving long vertical "framing". If there is no solid surface beneath then, they will also connect along the bottom.
Wood posts will extend upwards to connect to a torch if one is placed.
